Fitness Data Privacy Notice (effective 13 Oct 2026)

Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 13, 2026

What you are agreeing to

This notice supplements our Privacy Policy for your fitness and health information. You give the fitness-data consent described here with its own toggle when you set up your program. It is also our consumer health data privacy policy under US state laws such as Washington's My Health My Data Act.

By agreeing, you let Studio Era Fitness Ltd:

  • use your sex, age, height, weight, activity level and goals to set your calorie and nutrition targets and build your program;
  • use anything you choose to track (food, weight, measurements, steps, water, progress photos, and Apple Health or Health Connect data) for the features you use it in;
  • let our support team see your records when you ask for help;
  • share what is needed with the companies that help us run the service.

Access to private progress photos is restricted as section 3 explains. We never sell your fitness information or share it with advertisers. You can withdraw at any time by emailing privacy@studioera.co.

If the law where you live gives you more rights than this notice describes, you keep those rights.

1. What we collect

Setup information. Your sex, age, height, weight, activity level and goals. We need these to build your program.

Tracking you use. Food and nutrition entries, weigh-ins, body measurements, steps, water, and the workouts you complete or log. You choose which of these to use.

Progress photos. Photos you add to a check-in or your private progress area (a check-in asks for a front photo; side and back photos are optional). We do not run facial recognition or body-measurement analysis on them.

Apple Health and Health Connect. Steps and activity, and the energy and heart-rate readings you choose to sync after a workout, from the Apple Health or Health Connect categories you allow.

What the app creates. Your targets, progress summaries and workout history.

What you tell us. Messages, screenshots, posts and questions you send to support or share in the community or on a call, including any health details in them.

2. Why we use it

To set and update your targets, run the program and tracking features you choose, show your progress, and keep your history so it is there when you come back. To answer you when you ask for help and fix problems with your account. To keep a record of what you agreed to and act on your requests.

Statistics about members. We may produce statistics about member characteristics, engagement and recorded progress, for example age ranges, starting weights, changes in recorded weight and program completion, to understand patterns and improve our programs, features and support. We produce them only from de-identified records, in groups large enough that no individual can be picked out, and we never try to re-identify anyone. They are not part of the consent you give in this notice because they cannot be traced back to you. The limits on connected-health information in section 5 still apply.

The uses described in this notice include the limited legal and safety handling in section 3. If a new use needs your permission, we ask before we start.

3. Who can see it

Our support team. When you ask for help, support staff can see your profile, targets, food records, weight and measurement history, and workout records. They look only to help you with your request.

Your photos. Access to private progress photos is limited to technical staff where needed to run, secure or fix the service, subject to the limited legal and safety exceptions below. Photos you send to support or post in the community are handled as part of that conversation.

Providers and other recipients. We limit the information we share to what is needed for the purposes described in this notice. Providers processing information on our behalf do so under contractual instructions and restrictions.

Support and AI. Our support platform (Intercom, including its AI features), our contracted support staff, and the AI services that our team may use to help prepare or review individual replies (under terms that prohibit training on your data) can see what you send to support and the records needed to help you.

Community and calls. If you ask to join our member community (Skool), it receives your email address to invite you and whatever you post. We use Skool and Zoom for group calls.

Product analytics. Our product analytics tool (PostHog) records how the app is used, including masked session recordings.

Hosting and storage. Hosting, database and storage providers run the app and hold everything it stores.

Email privacy@studioera.co for the current list, or to ask which of them have received your information.

No affiliated company receives your fitness information. We have not authorized any advertising or analytics company to collect it across other websites or apps. We may be required to disclose limited information to a court, regulator or law-enforcement body, or where there is a serious safety risk. We disclose fitness or health information to our own insurers only where necessary to handle or defend a legal claim involving Studio Era and where the law permits.

4. What we never do

  • We never sell your fitness or health information.
  • We never share it with advertisers, data brokers or employers, and we never use it to target or measure advertising, ours or anyone else's.
  • We never publish your photos, progress or story without your separate, written permission.
  • We never use it to build or train AI models.
  • Other members never see your private records. They see only what you choose to post, or share in member calls and their replays, as section 6 explains.
  • We never try to identify anyone from the statistics we produce.

Agreeing to your program is agreement to none of these.

5. Apple Health and Health Connect

Connecting Apple Health on iPhone or Health Connect on Android is optional. If you connect one, you choose in your phone's settings which categories the app can read. We read steps and activity to fill in your daily tracking and, if you choose to sync after a workout, the energy and heart-rate readings for that workout.

We use this data only for the features you connect it to. We never use it for advertising or sell it; Apple's and Google's rules forbid that and so do we. You can disconnect at any time in Connected Apps or your phone's settings. Disconnecting stops new data coming in; what is already saved in your account stays until you delete it.

6. Community and calls

What you post there can be seen and copied by other members. We may record live Q&A calls and make the replays available to members. A recording may include your name, voice, video, questions and any personal or health information you choose to share during the call, so please avoid sharing anything you do not want in a replay other members can watch.

7. How to withdraw, delete or appeal

Withdraw fitness-data consent. Email privacy@studioera.co at any time. If you withdraw consent for information needed to run your program, the program stops. For plans billed through Stripe (website and Android), we cancel your website trial or stop future renewals of your paid subscription. We assess refunds for unused paid time individually, providing any refund required by law or your applicable agreement. For Apple-billed plans, cancel through Apple and request any refund through Apple. The Terms & Conditions, sections 6 to 8, explain billing and refunds.

You can stop a tracking feature, disconnect a health integration or delete an entry at any time. Changing or withdrawing permission for an optional feature may stop that feature, but does not by itself withdraw consent for the whole program.

Delete. Delete your account in the app, or email privacy@studioera.co to delete particular records or your whole account. Cancelling your subscription does not delete your account or saved history; you have to ask. Deleted information may remain in restricted backups for a limited period before it is removed. The Terms & Conditions, section 9, explain how deletion affects access and refunds.

Three lines to remember when you leave:

  • Your subscription must be cancelled before your account is deleted. Stripe-billed plans: cancel in Manage Subscription, or ask us to cancel it when you email your deletion request. Apple-billed plans: cancel through Apple; we cannot do it for you.
  • Once cancelled, delete in the app or by email. You do not need to wait for your paid period to end.
  • Deleting your Studio Era account does not delete your separate Skool account or your past posts.

Your other rights. You can ask us for a copy of your fitness information, ask us to correct it, and ask which companies have received it; where the law where you live requires it, that includes a list of the third parties that received it and an email address or other online way to contact each of them. Depending on where you live you may have more; ask and we will tell you. You do not need to finish onboarding or wait for a billing period to end. We never penalize anyone for using a privacy right.

Appeals. If we refuse a request, you can appeal by emailing privacy@studioera.co with "Appeal" in the subject line. We answer within the time the law allows and explain the outcome. If your appeal is unsuccessful, you can complain to a regulator: in the United States, your state attorney general, which is the office that enforces the Washington, Nevada and Connecticut health-data laws; elsewhere, the regulators listed in our Privacy Policy.

8. Outside Canada, and security

Your information may be stored or processed outside Canada, including in the United States, by the companies that help us. Our Privacy Policy explains the safeguards, how long we keep information, and how we protect it.

9. Changes to this notice

We update this notice when the service or our practices change. Each version shows its effective date, and we tell you about material changes. If a new use of your fitness information needs your permission, we ask before we start. Continuing to use the app is not consent where the law requires you to actively agree.
