Fitness & Health Disclaimer (effective 13 Oct 2026)
Effective date: October 13, 2026
The short version
- Studio Era gives fitness and nutrition guidance. We are not your doctor, dietitian or physiotherapist.
- Not every workout, calorie target or meal plan is right for you. Being able to pick one in the app does not mean it is.
- If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a medical condition, are recovering from illness, surgery or injury, take medication, or have a history of an eating disorder, talk to a professional before you rely on our targets or programs. Our calculations do not adjust for these.
- Stop if something hurts, you feel faint or you cannot breathe properly. Get help if it is serious.
- Nobody can promise you results, and we do not.
- Studio Era is for adults 18 and over. Turning on the Disclaimer toggle when you set up your program means you have read this, you accept the risks it describes and, where the law allows, you release Studio Era from injury claims, including negligence (section 8).
If the law where you live gives you more rights than this disclaimer describes, you keep those rights.
This disclaimer is from Studio Era Fitness Ltd ("Studio Era", "we", "us" or "our"). It covers everything we provide: the app, workouts and videos, calorie and nutrition targets, meal plans and recipes, articles and help content, support replies, our community and live or recorded Q&As. You agree to it by turning on the Disclaimer toggle when you set up your program. It is part of your agreement with us under our Terms & Conditions, and the sections of the Terms on our responsibility and on disputes apply to it. Read it with our Privacy Policy and Fitness Data Privacy Notice.
1. Is this medical advice?
No. We tailor your targets and program to the details you give us. That is personalization from limited inputs, not a medical examination, a review of your history or a clinical assessment.
We do not diagnose or treat medical conditions, eating disorders or injuries. We do not provide medical nutrition therapy, physiotherapy, rehabilitation or clearance to exercise. Asking us a question does not make us your clinician.
Do not use Studio Era in place of advice from a qualified professional who knows your circumstances. Do not delay care, ignore professional advice or change a prescribed treatment because of something you see in the app, read in an article or hear in a Q&A.
2. Is every workout and target right for me?
Not necessarily. Being eligible to join does not mean every calorie target, meal plan, workout or feature suits you.
Our calculations and programs are designed for a generally healthy adult aged 18 or over. We personalize your targets and program from the limited information you give us; that is personalization, not a medical assessment.
The app does not adjust your target, meal plan or workouts if, for example:
- you are pregnant, breastfeeding or recovering from childbirth;
- you are going through perimenopause or menopause;
- you have a hormonal, metabolic, thyroid, digestive, heart, blood pressure or other medical condition;
- you are recovering from illness, surgery or injury;
- you live with a disability or chronic pain;
- or you take medication that affects appetite, weight, nutrition or your ability to exercise safely.
Some of our articles, programs and support answers include general information about some of these situations. That information reflects published guidance and general practice, not an assessment of you. It does not change the target or plan the app gave you, and it is not a target, plan or instruction set for you.
If any of these situations applies to you, talk to a qualified professional who knows your circumstances before following a Studio Era target, meal plan or workout, and follow their guidance over anything in the app or our articles. If you are pregnant, do not use a Studio Era calorie deficit or weight-loss goal. None of these circumstances excludes you from membership. They mean that some features are not for you, or need a professional's agreement first.
If you have, or have had, an eating disorder, talk to a professional experienced in eating disorders before using calorie tracking, weight goals or progress monitoring. These features may not be right for you. Stop using any feature, and reach out for support, if it encourages restriction, compulsive exercise, or distress about food, weight or your body.
3. How accurate are the calorie targets and meal plans?
They are estimates. Your calorie and macronutrient targets come from the information you give us and cannot account for everything that affects your needs. Give accurate information and keep it current. Even with accurate information, the numbers may not be right for you.
The app gives you one recommended calorie target. Our meal plans are built at set calorie levels (for example 1,400, 1,600 or 1,800 calories), and we recommend the plan closest to your target. You can browse and choose any plan in the Explore section, including one above or below your target. If you do, that is your decision, not our recommendation. Eating less than your target is not better, and the fact that a plan appears in the app does not mean it is right for you, safe for you or enough for you.
While a meal plan is active, the nutrition shown for your days follows that plan rather than your recommended target. You can return to your recommended target at any time.
We do not currently offer meal plans below 1,400 calories. Even our lowest plan may be too low for some people.
Do not use our targets or meal plans to manage a medical condition without professional guidance. If your clinician recommends a different approach, follow it rather than matching the app's numbers.
4. What are the risks of exercising, and when should I stop?
Exercise carries physical risks: strains, falls, other injuries and aggravation of an existing condition. A video, an intensity label or a suggested weight cannot judge your ability or make an exercise risk-free.
Our videos show how to perform a movement. They cannot see your technique, your condition or your surroundings. Choose movements, weights and a pace that fit your ability. If you are new to exercise or returning after a break, start at a lower level than you think you need. Use equipment as instructed, give yourself space, and rest when you need to. You do not need to match the instructor's weights, speed, range of movement or repetitions.
Some workouts, programs or articles mention pregnancy, postpartum recovery, injuries or other physical limitations in their titles or descriptions. That does not make them medically prescribed, supervised or right for your condition. If one of these applies to you, get your treating professional's guidance before using them, and follow any movement, loading or weight-bearing restrictions you have been given.
Stop if an exercise causes sharp or new pain, makes an injury worse, or leaves you dizzy, faint or unusually short of breath, and get medical advice. For chest pain, severe breathing difficulty, collapse or any other possible emergency, stop and call your local emergency number. Our support and community channels are not emergency services.
5. What about food information and allergies?
Food and recipe information comes from nutrition databases, manufacturers, entries we prepare, entries you add and, where we allow it, entries other members share. Nutritional values are estimates and vary with ingredients, product formulation, portion size and preparation. Check them against the product and quantity in front of you, especially where accuracy matters for a medical or dietary reason, and tell support if you spot an error.
We are not an allergy-checking service. Read labels and ingredient lists yourself. A dietary tag or filter is general information, not a guarantee that a recipe, ingredient or finished meal is free of an allergen or cross-contact. Get professional advice for allergies, intolerances or a prescribed diet.
6. What about supplements?
Our articles and discussions may include information, opinions or personal experiences about supplements. A team member's experience is not a recommendation that the same product, dose or practice suits everyone. Check with a healthcare professional or pharmacist before taking a supplement if you have a medical condition, take medication, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or are unsure. A supplement or an article is not a substitute for prescribed treatment.
7. Can I rely on our articles, support, the community or a Q&A?
Our help center articles, guides, recipe notes and in-app tips are general educational information. They reflect published guidance and general practice at the time they were written, may not cover your situation, and can go out of date. Where an article gives a number, a range or a rule of thumb, it is general guidance, not a prescription for you, and it does not change the target the app gave you. Nothing in an article overrides this disclaimer or your professional's advice. You are responsible for how you use it.
Our team may answer questions, suggest foods, explain technique and offer alternative movements through support, community conversations and Q&As. Those answers are general help, not a full review of your diet or a supervised exercise prescription. The person answering may not know your full circumstances, and an alternative movement or technique comment is not confirmation that it is safe for your injury or condition. Take questions about pain, symptoms, injury, treatment or a medical condition to a healthcare professional.
Other members share their own experiences and opinions. Their comments are not professional advice and not Studio Era recommendations. Some support replies are drafted with AI help, and some conversations are answered first by an AI assistant that identifies itself as one. AI answers can be wrong, and you can ask for a person at any time.
8. Results, assumption of risk and release of liability
People respond differently to changes in exercise and nutrition. We do not promise a particular change in weight, appearance, strength, fitness or health, or a timeframe for one. Testimonials and transformation examples are individual experiences, not what will happen for you.
Use reasonable care, follow instructions and your professional's advice, and do not continue an activity or eating practice you have been told to avoid.
Assumption of risk and release of liability. By turning on the Disclaimer toggle and using Studio Era, you confirm that you have read this disclaimer, that you understand that changing how you eat and exercise carries risks including the ones described in sections 2 to 4, and that you accept those risks voluntarily. To the extent the law where you live allows, you release Studio Era Fitness Ltd and, in connection with their work for Studio Era, its directors, employees, contractors and instructors from claims for injury, illness, loss or damage arising from your use of the app, our content and our services, including claims based on our negligence, and you agree not to bring such claims against them. This release does not apply to anything the law does not allow us to exclude, including fraud, death or personal injury caused by our negligence where the law does not allow that to be excluded, or your rights under consumer law.
9. Changes to this disclaimer
We update this disclaimer when the service or our practices change. Each version shows its effective date, and the current version is always available on our website. We tell you about material changes before they apply. Where a change requires your agreement, it applies only after you accept it; otherwise it applies after notice only where the law and your existing agreement allow. Section 14 of the Terms governs the timing and membership consequences of changes to this disclaimer.
10. Questions and contact
